Here is an article from the Chronicle today stating that DWI's have gone down and Harris County may no longer be the title holder.

I also like how they explained why we have a problem with it which is pretty much exactly what I stated. Did I write the article?

"Experts have historically called the area the nation's leader in alcohol-related road fatalities among populous cities, citing its limited public transportation and urban sprawl that causes people to drive many miles. At least up until December 2011, Harris County held the title, according to a release from District Attorney Pat Lykos' office."

DWI deaths in Harris County decline, officials say - Houston Chronicle

Has somebody said this already(?),"What do you mean by ANTIQUATED Blue Laws?!" Does anyone else remember when you couldn't shop on a Sunday? That's SHOP.......Period......for pretty much anything. I learned how to drive in the Sharpstown Shopping Center parking lot on Sundays because there was no one there..........no cars............no nothin'.

Regarding alcohol, each state has their own rules / regulations as far as the buying selling / where to buy / when to buy /what you can buy. There are some funky ones out there......no rhyme or reason. I do prefer the California version of being able to buy whatever whenever wherever........nothing else makes much sense.

Ahhh the East Coast.... Now Bloomberg is "locking up" baby formula in hospitals so mothers will have to breast feed. I'm all for mothers breast feeding because it is more healthy, but to make it harder for them to have a choice of their own is just plain ridiculous.

What's next? It's "healthier" to take the stairs so we are shutting down half of the elevators in the city. Talk about a nanny state and the government OWNING you...

"With each bottle a mother requests and receives, she’ll also get a talking-to." What are we six?

Texas' blue laws are insignificant in comparison.

You might be right but Bloombeg is one of NYC's worst mayors. It pains me to say that because Dinkins held that title for years. Bloomberg is living off of Giuliani's success.

If the NYC and NY state taxpayers are paying for the baby formula, they have a right to encourage breast feeding.

Breat-feeding is so much better for the baby also, plus FREE!
