where can I pick free pecans in Houston tx or the surrounding areas about 10 to 15 miles outside of Houston ?

If you're talking about roadside picking, you're best bet is to head out I-10 west and look for trees that are roadside and not fenced in. Jump a fence, get shot. However, I think you'll have to go more than 10 - 15 miles.

You could also head up north on Hwy 59 and do the same thing and I think your chances of getting shot will go up even higher. But it's worth it for those yummy pecans.

Along Highway 6 near 59, in First Colony/Sugar Land. I see people all the time picking up pecans.

Get to know your neighbors....one of them undoubtedly has a tree. The harvest was heavy this year.

Pecans are everywhere in Sugar Land. Along Highway 90 in New Territory there are people picking them up every day.
