I have 3 bi-racial kids (black and white) and am thinking of moving to league city and want my kids in a school where there are kids of all nationalities. Looking at the demogaphics of the area it appeas to be pretty homogenous. Do you know of any schools that have a nice mix of kids so that my children wont be the only people of color there.

In spots, League City can be behind the rest of the area. I used to work with the public there and there were occasional racist and anti-gay outbursts. Most of them were from white males ages 18-22. You'd probably feel more comfortable in the Houston side of the Clear Lake area.

I too have a biracial child and live in League City. League City is still a country bumpkin, backward part of the world. The trouble is they think they are top-notch. Even some of the teachers are racist. I had to remove my child from Bauerschlag Elementary because of racism. Let me know the ages of your children and I will direct you to the better schools for them.

League City is a great place. You are responding to a post as old as your ancesters by a poster who moved on years ago.

Country bumpkin backward town? I believe the population to be about 50,000 now. Is that a country bumpkin town to you? The median income is about $80,000. That dont sound too shabby and backwards to me.

My husband is black and our 9 year old daughter is biracial....and I had the same question....my job was moving from Galveston to the South Shore area of League City, so I considered moving to League City. But it really did seem overwhelmingly white overall and I wanted a bigger suburb with a better mix of people, as I too did not want my daughter to be one of the only black children in her school. We settled in a very nice apartment complex in Friendswood 6 weeks ago (directly across the street from Baybrook Mall called The Lodge At Baybrook). Friendswood/Webster/Clear Lake are only a few exits further North than League City. The neighborhood I'm in has a great mix of people as does her school. My only regret was not moving out of Galveston 5 or 10 years ago because I'm loving the location and the neighborhood. Sorry no offense to anyone in LC, but me being born and raised in Chi-town, I enjoy a larger suburb with more of a mix. To someone like me...League City would be a bit stifling and too suburban. I made the right choice for myself. Good luck with your choice!
