Try:

1. Local book club.
2. Mother's Day Out facilities.
3. Join a gym
4. Check your local neighborhood news flyer

I doubt anyone will just respond "Ya! Where do you want to meet?". Nope, that ain't happenin'...

Check out these different mom's groups. Why are you at home? There are many things you can do around town. Get a membership to the Houston Zoo and/or the Children's Museum...well worth the expense for unlimited visits, lot's to do in each. Take a walk at a local park or around your neighborhood...you will meet other moms & nannies there. Visit Memorial Park for a stroller walk, go to Hermann Park for a walk & picnic. Discovery Green is another good place - check their website for kid-specific events. Check your nearest local library for story time. Barnes & Noble and even Pottery Barn Kids offer kid Story Time and other kid-friendly events.

Also Kid Stuff directory (you will probably spot at the libraries, etc) have tons of ads with kid-related activities, schools, etc. Welcome to the Kidstuff Directory : Little Magazine. BIG Resources.
