Hey there guys. I will be attending UTI in Houston next year in 2008. I've heard several things about that area of Houston, most of them not so good. I am looking for a place that is south of the campus towards the Rice University or Arts Institute Are (both of them are close I believe). My girlfriend is going to be attending the Arts Institute so I am looking for apartments that are nice, but specially safe. Looking for something north of Arts Institute too, you know between both universities. Any Help will be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

Help me out with UTI's location, isn't UTI up north? Like off of 45 around Airtex and Richey?

UTI is located on Lockhaven in Houston which is far north Houston just west of IAH. Depending of what you are looking for, the Woodlands not too far away is very nice and I am sure you can rent an apartment for $800 up.

The Woodlands is one of only two developments by HUD remaining in the US. The other is in Virginia. Very successful and very bucolic.

There are also many nice areas along Hwy. 1960. You just need to drive the area and look around.

Nothing good in the immediate area of UTI. If it is where I am thinking of, the properties around Ella Blvd have really gone downhill. Cypress Station isn't much better.

Default Dont live near UTI

Dont live near UTI it is unsafe. Commute commute commute that area is one of the worst spots when it comes to crime other than the truely ghetto spots
