You have to remember, in the eyes of most of the country, Houston is pretty unremarkable too.

EasilyAmused took the words right out of my mouth. Katy is bigger than alot of people think. I'd say it definitely is Houston's largest suburb (aside from Pasadena when talking about city limits). I know its confusing when talking about the actual city of Katy VS the Katy area. The actual city only has about 15,000 people, but when you include all of the unincorporated areas along the energy cooridor where the post office still lists the addresses there as "Katy, Texas", it's well over 250,000 people.

The NW Cypress area is by far the largest suburban area, but it's unincorporated I believe. I've read articles stating it's population between 500,000- 750,000 people.

If Hwy 290 is any indication, I believe it.

So where are boundaries of the unincorportated areas between the Houston city limits and the Cypress. Where do they lie?

I have to imagine there is census data by Zip code somewhere. Maybe somebody with some time on their hands can do some digging. I tend to think those figures are WAY high but it'd be interesting to know.

I'm trying to find some more info but I'd put a large wager that is bigger than the Katy area.
