Hi! I'm new to this forum. My family wants to move to Texas, hopefully this year.
I need help on tips...we're thinking
Sugar Land or Houston. Can someone please please orient me about
Sugar Land . I heard they have a better school system compared to Houston area.
I am also an RN. I still have to look for a job. Does
Sugar Land has hospitals in its area? Any tips on how to apply for a job while you are not "physically" in Texas yet?
Are RN jobs still marketable in Houston/Sugar
Land ? Does anybody know an average per hour rate for an experienced RN? Any recommendable hospitals in
Sugar Land or Houston areas? I'm just worried that I won't be able to find a job.
Please help

Sugar Land is one of the more upscale suburbs (and actually a municipality itself) outside of Houston. The center of Sugar Land is about 20 miles from downtown Houston.

There are a ton of great hospitals and medical centers in the Houston area.. Compared to other areas of the country the economy is booming and the cost of living is much better. Sugarland is a great area and I believe has a few hospitals right there in it but is also not too far from the medical center area.

Make sure you have a job before you come to Texas. Things always look greener when you are on the other side of the fence. This place is struggling to like the rest of the country with unemployment. Overall, the entire state is behind on education, so when you heard Sugar Land schools are better consider what this means when the whole state is below par in terms of how they are doing compared to the nation. In terms of salary because it is Texas it will be lower compared to the east coast if you are moving from the east and property taxes are high as well as sales tax. Make sure you do your homework. Why? They are making up for no state income tax. People especially on this board like to sugar coat things.

are nurses still marketable in finding a job? i am an oncology nurse but i can also apply to other nursing positions. just wondering how is the job market. what are the recommendable hospitals from sugar land? maybe up to 30 minutes commute.

I need help on tips...we're thinking Sugar Land or Houston. Can someone please please orient me about Sugar Land. I heard they have a better school system compared to Houston area.
