You are currently looking at renting in the Aldine/Westfield area, which is definitely the worst part of "Spring".

The much better part of Spring is to stay West of I-45 and North of 1960. This opens up a wide swath of unincorporated Spring and gets you into the Klein area and nearer to Champions, which is the best part of Spring. The schools are better, the crime is lower, and the neighborhoods are nicer. For that part of town you want to be looking at 77379 instead.

Basically, you want to be in Klein ISD, not Spring ISD for schools.

The area west of 45 on Louetta seems nice and is in a good school district.
but I don't know if there's any apartment complexes around there.

I moved from Seattle to Houston. You will not find lower taxes in Houston - the sales tax is the same (8.25%) and property taxes are more than double in Houston compared to Seattle. And for the money, you get far less in TX public services. Public schools here are a low priority, you are better served in a WA public school. It is true that you can find lower cost housing to buy, at least outside of 'desirable' areas, but I'm not sure the same holds for rents. Houston is much more segregated socioeconomically than Seattle, there is far less mixing of high- and low-rent in the same neighborhoods, so keep that in mind when you are looking for a good deal. Best of luck!

How much are you looking to rent? Size wise, etc.

There's reasonable places all over Spring granted you don't mind a house from like 1970 or so.

Spring east of I-45 has gone downhill in a bad way. Unless you live in Carlton Woods or Benders Landing willing to pay 5$$,$$$ to $,$$$,$$$ it's kind of the ghetto of Spring.

^ ..... you obviously don't know much about it.

Spring is a big area, so parts of it are always mixed up.

Generally east of interstate 45 and south of Cypresswood/Louetta, the income level is lower, and has cheaper apartment complexes. Therefore it attracts less desirable neighbors. There also isn't any development in those areas, so nothing to make it nice and appealing.

West of 45, you have the better school district, booming housing development, and a lot nicer neighborhoods. You can also go as north as Rayford/Sawdust on 45 and be on the east side, that is a nicer part of spring. Imperial Oaks, Legends Ranch, Spring Trails, Harmony, Benders Landing, Fox Run , are all better than the neighborhoods south of that area.

Obviously , i dont know nothing about the area thats why i am asking in a relocation forum ...... i had only been there a few times my company is based there and thats why the reason of moving i am probably renting in the woodlands that would be my safest choice and its not that bad in terms of pricing .... well thanks , and by the way i love seattle and own a condominium in Bellevue which it cost me around 380k which i could get something nice and bigger in Houston i hope so .
