Question Flood Insurance Spring, TX

I have been reading and trying to do some research on the Flood Zones and Flood Insurance. My husband and I are purchasing our home in Windrose and are trying to decide if we need to purchase Flood Insurance. I have learned about the 100 yr flood and the 500 yr flood and evidently it is not effecting us. But has anyone had any issues in that area of flooding?
Thanks!

Buy flood insurance anyway - it is cheap if you aren't in a flood plain ... and sometimes areas than have NEVER flooded will flood given the right amount of rain in the right amount of time. I know, that has happened to me and to another family member.

Flood insurance is so inexpensive that IMO you shouldn't think twice about purchasing it. $300 a year is very little for the piece of mind it provides!
