Default Interracial family in Houston area

We are an interracial family who lives in Portland, Oregon. It is not a big deal here but I realize that not all parts of the country are the same. We are planning to move to Texas this spring. I just want to know what area would be the best. A good school system is important. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!

Houston, Dallas, San Antonio.... are all large cities where there are plenty of mixed-race families, and people from other countries. Especially Houston. Fort Bend County (just southwest of Houston) is one of the most racially diverse counties in the country, and has great schools.

This topic came up on a different forum, and the observation was made by someone in an inter-racial relationship that in Houston it basically was not an issue. I don't remember it verbatim, but something to the effect that when they visited Atlanta & I think Dallas too, they got some "looks" that they were unaccustomed to getting in Houston. I can't vouch for the validity of that, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Whatever shortcomings Houston may have, it is a very international and diverse place. In many ways it is far more progressive than people give it credit for. I do not think it would be a big deal here at all.
