I lived in Houston in 1993 and also in 2003.......in my opinion??
Good things......Close to the Gulf Of Mexico, NASA, Beautiful Skyline, Galleria.

Bad things......Smog (the air stinks), Heat/Humidity (might as well live in a Steam Bath), Traffic (LA like GRIDLOCK), People (kinda backwoods).

But thats just MY opinion!!

If your looking for an area with High Tech related job.......try Austin or the DFW area.

Does the air smell like oil, OR, is it just a smoggy - like smell?
Is Austin better than Houston?

As crazy as this may sound to some people, I like the weather. I get sick pretty easy when it's cold. I HATE cold weather. Right now, it's about 55 degrees and I have the heat on.

Dosen't sound crazy to me at all - I like hot weather and humidity!
I prefer humidity over cold dry weather anytime.

It only smells in a few areas, most of Houston is like every other part of the country. The things I like best in Houston? I love the restaurants as well as the friendly atmosphere most places you go.

I also like the fact that I can build and live in a large custom home for about the same price as a lot of people purchase tiny homes in other cities.
