Default The Woodlands

Hi, I'm from CT and saw those pictures of The Woodlands. It's beautiful. I went on realtor.com and noticed when I type in The Woodlands I also get Magnolia, and Spring and some other towns. Are they all located within the Woodlands or are they surrounding towns? Can someone explain The Woodlands to me. I would seriously think about moving there. I have reverse sticker shock! Those houses up here would be 800+++!!

I posted in another thread just a few down that if you go to HAR.com, you can do a search for the following zip codes and it will be all Woodlands Properties, with the exception of two other small subdivisions that share two of the zip codes.

77380, 77381, 77382.

Listings may say Woodlands, VOCC, VOGM, VOPC, VOIS, VOAB, but it's all the same. The Woodlands is broken up into villages and then into smaller neighborhoods. The Villages are:

Panther Creek, Grogan's Mill, Indian Springs, Alden Bridge, Cochran's Crossing

The two neighborhoods I mentioned earlier that are not actually "part" of The Woodlands are Vicksburg (shares 77380 with Grogan's Mill and part of Panther Creek) and Shenandoah (actually its own incorporated city and shares 77381 with Cochran's Crossing and Indian Springs)....but you will see those names on the listings. There are not many outside the Woodlands that are listed currently.

Good luck!

Spring, Champions, Klein, the 2920/Kuyukendahl area, etc are all within 10-20 minutes of The Woodlands and cost about 25% less to live there, yet the schools are as good and you can still use the facilities in the Woodlands.

I wouldn't quite say its 25% cheaper, more like 10% if that.

I think in the upper end custom market (new construction), it is about 25%. Maybe in the tract and older homes it would not be.

Default Creekwood Village Condos?

Creekwood Village Condos on Tangle Brush. Anybody familiar with it?

Pretty big complex. Have there been any problems there that anybody would know about?

Default About Woodlands and surrounding areas

Woodlands is beautiful and there are all kinds of subdivisions with all kinds of housing associations. Kind of depends on what your style of living is, where you plan to work and such. As far as social capital goes, it is "the" place to be. But along with that goes with crowded mall and marketplace and alot of teens with money. I'm not kidding. More traditional family values in towns like Spring, Magnolia, Montgomery, Conroe, Tomball. Of course this is my opinion. Check out Montgomery. We have a house for sale there. Pretty, small town feeling but close to city. See ad in classified "David Weekly home for sale".

The Woodlands is actually not its own city yet. It is actually Spring. In addition to the neighborhoods already mentoned. add to that The Village of Creekside park which is a new Woodlands development but will be zoned to Tomball schools. It is simply gorgeous over there and brand new. There will be an aquatic center which will include a large pool, a lazy river, a lap pool, a poolhouse with concessions etc., there is also Rob Fleming park with a lodge, a playground, a bluebonnet meadow, a butterfly garden, trees everywhere. Incredibly beautiful! I am very impressed with this area,it is located next to Augusta Pines but considered The Woodlands. There will be a ymca, a health and wellness center, an outdoor theatre and so much more. Definitely check this area in your decision making process.
Magnolia is right next door to The Woodlands and also has great schools and is more acreage and less suburban.
