Have you all heard that Houston plans to invest money into making Downtown parking signs more clear? It's about time! I recently was given a ticket while at a Dynamo game for parking besides an abandoned lot, with the only sign at the end of the street saying "No parking during Ball Park games." Well Ball Park means baseball, so I'm good right? I parked and received a $70 ticket.

Of course I plan to fight it, and I heard about the new online parking contest option. Has anyone used it? How does it work?

I have never seen a parking sign for something like that. Are you sure that is even a legit city sign? I know most streets in downtown you can't park between 7am-9am and 4-pm-6pm M-F. They do that so that the all of the lanes are open for the rush hour.

That doesn't sound legit to me either.

All city signs have a three-inch square sticker covered in barcodes and warning against tampering. Usually on the back of the sign.

I've contested a ticket and it was easy and successful. They're pretty reasonable I think. Another CD poster contested his/her ticket recently and also succeeded. I've also never seen/heard of such a sign either, but if the officer gave you a ticket, it's probably legit.

I contested a ticket once. The no parking sign was stolen or something. Just a poll. I took a picture of it. The meter maid took a picture of another sign and said that it was next to my car. They did reduce the parking ticket to 40. I swear I have met so few honest police in my life time. Just sad.
