Possible to have someone or company remove them for free if I let them have them? The trunks are about 6 to 9ft tall. If you know someone that would do this on the SE side let me know. I hate these things.

Do you know what kind of palms they are?

Some palms 9 ft tall are worth thousands of dollars. I'd hate to see you give away $6k to $10k by mistake.

They are most likely Washingtonias (Mexican Fan Palms). If so, they are probably worth several hundred dollars if the are in good shape. Maybe $700-$800 retail. If you either prune them every 6-8 months or let them skirt, they are relatively low maintenance. They do require some fertilizer in Houston to be at their best. But, water requirements seem low.

They're not my cup of tea and one is right off my entrance to my front door and the palms are always in my way. The other is in the backyard in "the jungle" with god awful bamboo just growing like weeds. It's so bad the bamboo is growing in 3 neighbors yards. It's worse than elephant ears the way they reproduce. Stuff is hard to get rid of too. I wish the previous owner didn't but I'd love for a company to take the palms and level that area in return they can have the palm trees and sell them to a nursery or client.

bump. I have 2 palms in my back yard and would love to get rid of them as well. If they are worth anything, all the better.

i hope you are trimming them properly. all local palms are beautiful but look really shaggy and poor if they aren't maintained. that petticoat that hangs down and rots is supposed to be cut back. the stripping bark is supposed to be pulled as the tree grows taller. brown dead fronds are supposed to be cut as well. this is sometimes needed more than once or twice a year depending on how well the tree is doing. they require much more maintenance then a regular tree
