I found this really big spider in the downstairs bathroom of my West Houston home last night. It looked like it had crawled out of the exhaust vent in the ceiling. Does anyone know what type it is, it was about 3" in diameter including its legs.

A harmless one... Maybe a trap door. They're like tarantulas.

This is the trapdoor spider I mentioned. Is this close? It's all I can think of. Growing up on the SW side I've only seen 2 of them wander into our house. At first I thought it was a tarantula. Looks like yours is skinny with a red booty, while this one is blue-black.
