tell a friend.

Anyways, I do actually have a question. I've gone to the LGBT parade a few times over the years as I have family member very near and dear to me who is gay. The problem is, it's been a few years and during the previous times we've wound up looking mostly at the back of other people's heads. So....where's the best place to watch from and how early should we get there? Any info is greatly appreciated.

Other than paying for seats at the VIP area, I've never found a perfect spot either. I always end up camping out at the Wendy's, just for the shade and the extra bit of height.

I was afraid that would be the answer. Not surprising, though, especially considering we have a gay mayor.

Eh, at least we will be there for support. It wasn't easy for my brother in law to grow up gay in the Valley. Well, at least not among the adults. The kids, on the other hand, loved him as he was both homecoming and prom king.

Get a huge case of assorted condoms to pass out and then you can get the best seats in the house. Apparently someone dropped the ball on that one this time around.

I stand around or bring chairs and sit along Westheimer around the Gaslight Gallery area. I haven't had to get there too early in the past to get "front line" seats. You have to get there at least a half hour before the parade starts. They have bleachers set up in some spots but those fill up faster

this spot is close to the where the parade typically starts (i didnt check out the map this year if it changed). i always felt it was a pretty good spot. spots further down the parade line are much worse

Wow, thanks for all the info. F2, I'm sure you are correct but I'm not one to promote promiscuity.

I have been to the parade for the last few years. I rarely have actually watched the parade. We are usually drunk and partying. There is always some crazy people watching too. Good luck in finding a spot to watch the actually parade. It is usually several people deep on the street edges.
