Theres a lot of Puerto Ricans and a good bit of Cubans. Of course not Miami or New York, but theres a lot of Puerto Ricans and Cubans. Venezuela often deemed as Caribbean (due to its culture and slang) also has a huge pressence in Houston. Dominican population is a lot smaller, but it is there. I know a good bit.

Haiti is next to the Dominican Republic, not Cuba. Cuba stands alone & is the largest island in the Caribbean

But also because of culture. Baseball being the national sport. The similarities in the food and the slang. And music with salsa and merengue.
