the Stream/Essex tower that was hyped as being the first 50 story tower to break ground in Houston in over 25 years, before Chevron was announced and Hines was upsized? if so apparently the renderings havent been released to the public, though i just emailed Stream asking for the renderings (apparently theyll show you, but you must guarantee you wont show it, or face legal repercussions), so you can try that. word has it that it will be kind of in between the shape of a head and shoulders bottle, and a sail shaped building like Burj al Arab, with lights running up one side of the building. i hope theyre able to find tenants and get this one off the ground, it sounds like a dramatic design that will stand out on the north side of the skyline.

Yea, Miami has really rebounded fast. A good amount of their high end realestate are foreign buyers using them as second or 50th homes. Though our city growth demolishes Miami.

you keep posting Miamis stats in a Houston forum. i dont get it? you do realize Houston went through an equally (some would say even more) impressive boom in the 1980s..? congrats to Miami, but it doesnt change the fact their tallest building is less than 800 feet. Houston is getting 2 800ish footers, and theyre actually happening.. not just some fantasy proposals that will never happen like most of the listed Miami proposals.

Miami really has no choice. They can't build out anymore. They will have to build up whether it's highrise or midrise from now on. Houston doesn't have that problem. Though I wish they stopped growing out. There isn't really a reason for them not to. It's apples to oranges, honestly.

Freedom Tower + 1180 Peachtree + Museum Tower = This thing.

I don't see the originality in it.

haha, interesting comparison. its not the most original thing ever, but it will be better than the average box that usually gets built in Houston. im just excited they are increasing the height of this building, before it wasnt much taller than BG Place and wouldnt of stood out in the skyline.
