Not to mention Top Golf doesn't appeal to majority of Houston only a small demographic of a sport that use to discriminate minorities and women from playing. We know where you stand, I wonder how often do you attend Klan meetings and if the punch and cookies are quite tasty?

And a City Centre or better yet a Victory Park like development to compliment Reliant Arena and The Rodeo is much more beneficial to the city then a Top Golf. Would make up for the void of Astro world.

That location isn't even all that close to the new Exxon campus. It is basically right off Cypresswood near I-45. The Exxon campus WILL have access to it, but this location will also grab all the people out of the Woodlands, Spring/Klein, and even Champions folks will go there.

Victory Park. I like the sound of that. Perfectly compliments Reliant and the Rodeo. It could turn into Olympic Park (if we ever get to host). Disappointed the rodeo bought half the land for parking and storage. I think a huge development would better suit that area instead of a hodgepodge of developments that don't mix well together. This definitely would leave an impression on tourists who visit Reliant.

Come on now, it's not all that far either. When I'm not at school at A&M I am usually directly across from the new site...like less than 50 yards. The EXXON campus is less than 3 minutes away in car and roughly 2 miles North in distance. And let's face it car distance is all that really matters in this part of the Houston Metro area.

Of course people of the surrounding areas will go there, but clearly EXXON was a prime factor for the location.

Even as a white male myself, I find people like Schumaker interesting. I'm not quite sure if you could label him as a racist, a bigot, prejudiced, or just plain ole myopic, but his views illustrate that there is still a gulf between the races. I say this because I hear friends of mine get upset that African-Americans and other ethnicities harp on race issues, when in all reality the issues are still present, it's just not as popular to be racist, bigoted, or prejudiced it as it was in the past so it has gone underground so to speak. But the relative anonymity of the internet often reminds us that as much as things have changed, some things have stayed the same.

The prime factor was probably The Woodlands and they also may have wanted to be closer to other areas mentioned (Klein, Champions, etc.). I'm sure Exxon was a factor though.

Very true, it was a confluence of the above stated factors more than likely. I mean Anandarko though further north by a few miles is opening their second tower in the not so distant future. I forsee this business getting a lot of business. The area around Cypresswood is sort of a dead zone entertainment wise...relatively speaking anyway.

Bite your tongue! Main Street America, the home building theme park, is right in that area!

Yeah true lol, that place is EPIC for the demographic it is intended for. I've been meaning to stop by there to take it all in. Thanks for reminding me.

I am just honest. I am hardly racist. I went to HS at Booker T Washington where I was one of five white people in an all black school. I have plenty of friends of all races. Poverty is color blind. Poor areas are poor areas. It is just how it is. Now there are plenty of racist people in this forum. I see it all the time. I am pretty liberal in my social and economic views. I don't know why people pretend there are not race issues. Of course there are. We live in one of the most racist states. In the end that is a poor area and gentrification takes decades. It is just a fancy word that means get rid of the poor minorities and replace it with upper middle class and rich white people. This is just the real world.
