Stopped in around lunch time and the new Fresh Market on Memorial was packed. It appeared they had the significant number of employees parked across the street in that open lot across from Lantern Lane shopping center. The store is quite nice. I was happy to find they have real grits

Attached are a couple pics I snapped.

OMG!! Went there today.

DO NOT go there hungry...fresh deli to die for, awesome meats and cheeses, great fruit & veggie section. I went to Trader Joes last week - it can't compete with this place, NOT EVEN CLOSE. I'm quite excited its on the way home from work so can pick up the fixings for a great dinner at the last minute.

I believe this is the website:
The Fresh Market - Houston

I'll check it out. I was disappointed with TJ. Small, the choice of produce is very limited. Hopefully, Fresh Market would be a better option.

How are the prices? Trader Joe's claim to fame is that it's cheap. I don't see this place being a competitor of TJ's. It looks really nice though!

No its not cheap, nor processed food loaded like Trader Joes. But it has great veggies and super fresh meats.

Popped in last night for an antibiotic free roasting chicken from NC and some veggies, that were of perfect ripeness...which seems hard to find in Houston.

Too me it offers more than Whole Foods, and isn't crunchy. Its more like the "Foodies" Whole Foods. But like Central Market or Whole Foods, you still have to go to the HEB for cleaning supplies.

Just got back from the store. Mmmmm..disappointed. Their produce section is small. Prices are high. More expensive than HEB (I compared the same things), which to me is an expensive store. Location wise it's better, don't have to drive far to WF or TJ. But I was hoping for much more. Veggies and meats are fresh though.
