Freeway trash & abandoned/stolen shopping carts are two of Houston's biggest eyesores.

Trashy people do trashy things.

Wow this one really went off course. I digress....I came on here to post some good ON TOPIC news. Coming back into town on the Katy Fwy yesterday afternoon I saw the strangest of sites between Pederson Rd and FM 1463: A litter pick up crew.

Don't let your bitterness toward CA cloud you judgment, it only makes you sound as ignorant as some of these other folks on here.
LOL @ this post. Did you really go to USC? Have you SEEN the 110, the 710, parts of the 405, the 105, and the 60??? They compare very well to the trash you see on 45, 10, and 610 (specifically, though there are others) in Houston.

I agree with the poster who contrasted the 101 and 280 in the Bay - those are really the only two Bay Area freeways I'm familiar with.

I'm not sure about Texas as a whole vs. California as a whole in terms of freeway cleanliness, but when I think of LA vs. Houston specifically, I don't see much difference.

To be fair though its probably harder to notice in Cali than in Houston - when its palm trees and mountains serving as your backdrop what's a little trash?

I don't know...last time I was in L.A. in the winter, I was driving down one of the main freeways, clear blue skies, snow on the mountains, and trash everywhere in the foreground. It just ruined it for me, just like it does anywhere in the country or world. Most countries I've been to are as bad or worse. It's a people problem.

i was driving on the 10 just a few days ago and the car in front of me chunked out a little wad of trash. drove on I10 here and didnt really notice anything. and agree, its a people thing. doesnt matter which state youre in, theres always gonna be some litter or someone who doesnt care about throwing some trash out the window.
