No kidding!! I hate it when an idiot is half into my lane and I have to slam to a stop or if possible, swerve into the next lane. Same thing with people coming out of parking lots...know where the hood of your car ends!

Yes.
But what's with these signs that say "No U turn between 2AM -5AM"? What's going on at those hours that makes a difference?

Seriously? At those hours?
I think, I saw some U-Turn signs with hours, but they indicated rush hours or school zone hours.

It should also be noted that right turn on red (where allowed) is allowed only from the right most lane. Many people ignore this.

People always say "but I can't see at the line", the idea is to stop at the line then proceed forward slowly to look, so that you're not lunging into oncoming traffic at great speed. That's the whole point of the stop sign being there.

I know how you feel. Coming from a state where it is illegal, it feels like you are breaking the law at first, even if you know it's legal here (with the above restrictions).

I think I remember they had some along Richmond Avenue when there were a lot of bars and clubs along that area by the Galleria. If the police had a DWI checkpoint, and the drunk makes a U turn to avoid it, they catch them on the illegal U turn and then possibly issue a DWI.

Except where there is an inner (? left ?) right turn/straight ahead lane and it's not posted against.
