Has there ever been a time there wasn't road construction? Been passing through Houston off and on for the past 30 years and there always seems to be highway construction going on. Is some politicians' family or friends getting rich by dragging out the work for decades or will with world end if road construction there suddenly stops?

There is always construction because they don't plan out the freeways correctly. By the time construction is complete they have to start again because demand is already outpacing the new supply.

It also doesn't help that we constantly have new people moving here all the time.

New football/baseball stadium also doesn't help.
