You know, I have lived with arrogant Texans all of my adult life, and it sucks!!! I used to have pride for this state, but now, money talks and bullshi.. walks! You can kill anyone here and get away with it, if you have money.

I don't even need to work, live on the lake, and have it made. But, if my neighbors were getting robbed, and I saw it, was on the phone with 911, they told me not to go outside with my gun, I don't think I would have.
That is stretching the law. To shoot them in the back? Who are you to say that you would end someone's life, although they are not robbing you? You are all so pious. I hope you don't do the same thing in another state, you would not get away with it.
What I don't get is when people say its stretching the law, thats just not accurate. The law is written in black and white, you can see what is legal and what is not. Its right there. Pretending it doesn't say that, doesn't make it so.

Personally, as a woman I would have been frightened to go outside but I can't say that I wouldn't have shot at them. If I happened to be outside and had a weapon and they were headed right for me, I would probably have shot them. I might have fired into the ground as a warning shot but I have a right to do so based on the laws of the land.

How can you live in a state when you know so very little about its laws? Its really not wise. You might disagree with them, but you should at least know what the laws are.

The law is not "black and white" in Texas, or we wouldn't have this blog going on.

Where is it legal, in any state, to defend your neighbor's property? Where you are not "at harm"?

By the way, I have lived in this ****ty state since 1977. They think they are God and they can do what they want. They all want to be "first" here, it is evident in driving, dragging a body until it breaks apart and other things. But yet, there is a church at every corner, go figure. What a joke! And Bush? Don't even get me going.....to those who think I am disloyal, great, I am only here to squeeze as much money from this God forsaken state before I leave.

You don't have a very good grasp on the law of Texas if you think only rich people can get away with something like this. I have read many stories where the law consistantly upholds the rights of a person to defend their person, their home and their posessions with lethal force no matter how rich that person is.

In Texas, it is legal to defend your property or the property of a neighbor under certain defined circumstances. One can choose not to like the law but arguing that it does not exist is rather silly given that it is indeed there in black and white.

there is no place in the world for thug huggers, but texas certainly isn't. if you have the abjectly stupid euroweenie attitude, that's where you should be.
thankfully, texas is the most civilized state in the union, although there are many more who allow the real people to take morally proper action against garbage.

only truly amoral folks disagree with this law. their advocating that criminals should be allowed to do as they please is stupid on it's face.
then, they have the ignorant notion that the police have a DUTY to protect them, which is just as stupid. it has been settled law since 1981 that no such duty exists.
by the way hon, if a worthless piece of garbage ever insists that you shoot him, don't shoot into the ground. ANYTIME that you are forced to pull the trigger, you shoot to kill
