Not exactly '85 Bears defensive numbers.
So Schaub is out, then who do you put in his place?
Keenum? Yates? Tebow?
If you do that, you're just admitting that the season is lost.
Elite QBs don't just grow on trees
You sound like Cowboys fans who think replacing Romo will solve all of the Cowboys problems.
Not quite that easy to just replace a QB, especially one with so much experience in Kubiak's system.
Are you serious? The defense is giving up an average of 16 points a game. That is enough to win. They gave up 13 today. If they would have had a shutout against Baltimore, the Texans still would have lost thanks to Schaub and special teams. The defense is the only unit keeping the team in games. They will probably be the number one rated defense after this week's games are completed. They are currently ranked second. Schaub is not an elite qb. He is done. The lisfranc injury was the icing on the cake as far as him being a competent starting qb. He can be the backup to Keenum. Young QBs are starting all around the league. You don't need years with a clipboard anymore. All of this "experience" for Schaub in the QB friendly Kubiak system is 12 ints over his last eight games. Three pick sixes to in three straight games and really, you can say four (the first int against the chargers was basically a pick six).

If your QB can't somewhat run or jog then he needs to be able to sling the ball around. He can't do that either so that leaves us with not much of a QB. Schaub can't even run for a yard. Gary isn't doing him any favors by not letting him off the leash a bit more. Instead he wants to call ridiculous passing plays on 3rd and 4 and running plays on 3rd and 20.

This team needs a new QB, HC, Special Teams coach and the removal of Kareem Jackson. He costs us so many stupid PI calls because he refuses to look for the ball.

Fact is though, Matt is here to stay since his cap hit would be to high. This owner has shown he will give the coaching staff and QB far to much leeway before making a change. NBA season is right around the corner though

Any team with a strong defense will have a very good chance of beating Houston, because Schaub does poorly with pressure. He can't run, and he has terrible pocket presence. How many times has he stepped back or to the side into the defender? And now, he's getting panicky. If you have no mobility and can't work the pocket, it's inevitable that you'll be taking big sacks and throwing picks.

Since we can't throw away this season by prepping a quarterback at this point, this comes down to coaching. Kubiak needs to put in some schemes that will hurt the defense when they keep coming hard. They need to work on perfecting some screen passes. The majority of our screen attempts are fairly poor. That needs to change, and it's something that can be changed faster than getting another QB ready.

The season is already being thrown away with the QB we got now. Did the Niners throw away the season by starting Kaep last year? How about the Patriots 12 years ago? Might as well see what the young QBs got. Especially Keenum.

upon cooling down I have reconsidered my stance. Matt played hard and with heart something he has not done for a while.. that buys him a little of my respect. He is publicly embrassed that can ither fuel a man or break him. which will Matt choice depends on him. He can ither regin himself to the notion he does not deserve to be QB and run of his contract or he can work to prove his doubts wrong.. it really is up to him

Would you consider those examples the rule or the exception?
