My fiance and I have the option of picking pretty much any area we want to relocate to when we move to Houston next year, but we are having trouble deciding between the inner loop and one of the suburbs. We are planning to rent for a year or two. We're both going to be 25 and want to have access to entertainment, but we don't need a crazy nightlife to keep us happy.

Right now we're leaning towards West University or Upper Kirby in the loop, but lately we've started considering the 'burbs too. Where would you live if you could choose anywhere in the area?

It really depends on what you are looking for over the next few years. Are you planning on settling down and having children anytime soon? Or do you plan to live wild for the next few years? Do you want a lot of amenities?

If you want to be around people in their 20's that are college graduate 9-5'ers you could move to midtown and have a good time.

If you want somewhere that you plan to live for at least 5 years I would suggest SW, W, and NW Houston. Such as Sugar Land, Katy and Cypress.

Don't forget NE Houston. The Lake Houston area is really nice.

Cypress...for singles, childless couples and great for families. Katy=boring for adults without children, geared for families.

Kingwood is great. Also, make sure you check out The Woodlands.

You might like Sugar Land. It's a freeway drive away from the west loop.
