The local meteorologist got it wrong. Crazy downpour outside on the west side of town.

Those downpours popped up within minutes. Perfectly clear skies one minute, a few minutes later, downpours. No one thought there was enough moisture for the front to interact with which is why no rain was predicted.

I live in Austin but watch the radar from all of the state and country. I was very surprised to see those rainshowers pop up. It was a highly unusual situation.

So was rain forecast or not? Some responders say no, at least one said yes. If it was forecast, then what's the issue?

To those who are always so critical: if you can do better, then get yourself a job as a forecaster. Really.

It was not forecast. All the weatherman forecast clear skies and 0% chance of rain.

I'm pretty sure I can't do better because I didn't go to school for meteorology but I did find it funny just how wrong they were. You don't see very often a forecast of 0% chance of rain and clear skies while you look out the window and see not only one but two downpours come through over a one hour period.

Had I been a weatherman I would have at least thrown in some chance of rain simply because there was a front moving through.

But like I said. I just think it's funny. Not trying to be critical.

Sorry to have been so short about this.

I looked over this in more detail, and it was just plain weird what happened.
