Hi folks,

Could you please tell me your thoughts about the crime and safety situation in 77071. Is this area improving or is it getting worse?

Much appreciated

Do the prostitutes have bullet holes in them or are the two separate?

OP, you might find this useful: Crime option

I've worked in this area for the last decade. It's gotten remarkably better since the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. A few of the apartment complexes on Fondren and Creekbend have been bought out, renovated and are more tightly regulated now. The Braes Oaks Management District has done beautification in the area and seems to be trying to help the residential neighborhoods take back their community. There's still a strong Jewish presence. There are also still a few rough apartment complexes, and I personally wouldn't stop for gas after dark anywhere around there, but during the day it seems pretty tame.

My best friend parent still live over there. There are bullet holes in their brick. They have lived there since I was a child. It was a good area then. I really have no idea why they still live there since they can afford to live in River Oaks if they wanted. It is still a bad area. There are so many poor apartment complexes around there. It is not a safe area. I don't see it turning around any time soon or maybe even ever. While people have said it has gotten better. Better is all relative. If you are going to live in a sketchy area. At least pick one that will turn around in the near future.

Crime scale for that area is a 7 or 8 out of 10 and has been rising as of late.

Not an area I would consider.
