I've been to Hill Country years ago when visiting my brother in Austin. We now live in Houston and wondering in this may be fun to do over the Thanksgiving break from school. Thanks for any input.

Gruene, Wimberly, Dripping Springs, & Fredricksburg. Maybe up to Marble Falls and Burnet.

I second marble falls. Its gorgeous and with all the hills and the blue lake it looks like California. I wouldn't mind living there.

Also check out Georgetown, its a pretty little college town, probably my favorite small town in Texas.

Wimberley is a great place to visit. The Mandola winery nearby is great. If you have teenagers or shoppers in the family, the Outlet Mall in San Marcos would be a good diversion. Gruene Music Hall and Luling BBQ are also good stops to make. On the way to Fredericksburg/Kerrville, you can stop in San Antone and take in the Christmas Lights on the Riverwalk and some good Mexican food.

We go to Wimberley every summer. We rent a house on the Blanco River. It is so peaceful out there.

I'd move there in a heartbeat.
