You could always go to Beaumont and stop at Vidor for the truck and tactor pull festival.

we may choose to stay here in houston instead.. i heard no more new year's eve at discovery green.. so any good hotel new years eve party, kid friendly..

LOL you can drive west for 10 hours and still be very much in Texas!

Biloxi, Mobile, Pensacola, Panama City... All a straight shot on I-10 east. Panama City is about 10 hours away depending on how you drive.

One mentioned hot springs and another Biloxi. Those would be my picks. Little rock is close by and it's a cool small town to me that I'm sure will be kid friendly. They have hotels and nice a downtown district all lined up along a river.

I've never been to the Biloxi casinos but I've heard about them and I bet that'd be fun, but not as kid friendly prob.
