Hello Houstonians! I am relocating to Houston and I was thinking about moving to North Houston but I was told by a current resident that North Houston isnt the safest area so I was wanting to know what is an affordable and SAFE area in Houston?......and by affordable I mean not paying $900 for a one bedroom apartment

It's crazy to think (to me) that safe and $900 might not go together for some areas here.

I myself would recommend kingwood or spring area for an apt affordable. Maybe 700-850? Idk how low you wanna go but I'm sure you can find something in that range. Maybe 800-900 in certain spots in the inner loop.

Again you can't say one side of town is safe or dangerous. Move to Sealy if u want to be safe. Your question is way to general and doesn't make muvh sense

How does asking about safe affordable areas not make sense? Some areas of a city have more crime than others??

North is rather vague. You can find safe apartments for 800.

Since Houston is so spread out, and there is no zoning, there are safe and unsafe areas all over town. North Houston covers a LOT of area. North from say inside the loop 610 freeway out past the beltway 8 ("Gunspoint") area is more on the "unsafe" side than "safe" side as you will experience more crime. But further out in Spring and even further out in The Woodlands you will have less crime.

There are safe affordable areas all over the city, but it kind of depends on do you want to be close into town (more $$$) or are you Ok being in the suburbs for less $$$.

There are some areas where you can find a $900 one bedroom apartment in the Katy area just West of Houston.
