It is a DT museum! The little houses in Sam Houston Park. It is not just driving around a neighborhood.

I know the area well, and have gone there for decades to enjoy the lights. There was no fence then, and no charge to observe them. It is after all, Our Park. we already pay for it, and the lights, and the city employees to install them. why whould we be charged again to view them? any thing to make a buck, it seems to me.

Yep, the Uptown lighting is a big production. Last time I went it was extremely crowded though, so be prepared for that. It's a good one though.

Check each individual area of the metro, too. Many of them have an event. Sugar Land is having their tree lighting event on Dec 3rd in Town Square.

The highlight of the holiday season is always the H-E-B Holiday Parade. This year's Thanksgiving Day event will wind through the streets of downtown on Thursday, November 26 starting at 9 a.m. at Minute Maid Park. In honor of the event's 60th anniversary, the parade will feature all-new floats, helium balloons and more than 5,000 participants.
