Meyerland,

Could you please message me the name/number of the real estate agent for the Meyerland area? We need someone who is connected for that area and who can find us a home...perhaps even before it goes on the market. We're having a hard time finding something.

Thanks so much.

You can live anywhere in 77096 & 77035 In Meyerland you will have a hard time finding a totally remodeled home under $500k now in Willow Meadows Willowbend Westbury Maple under 500k no problem. Red Elementary is a pretty good school check out Willow Meadows & Willowbend stay away from Post Oak Manor smaller homes some are kinda junks. There is a house for sale in Willow Meadows been of the market for like 2 yrs now needs a total remodel you could buy it and remodel it and still be under $500k

PM me in your willing to buy a fixer upper

So then, which is the best elementary in that area ? Asking because online rankings are not necessarily the best to go with .

The ones you were told about (Kolter, Herod, Parker) are the best. They are different. I think if you tour the three schools you'll get a sense of which is the best fit for you. PM me if you have specific questions about Parker.

Great Thank you ! I just sent you a PM about Parker and fine arts magnet. Looking at schooldigger.com , it is all the more confusing. The schools in sugarland rank way higher than any of these schools. Does that ranking also consider the magnet programs ? What is the rank based on !!

Best Schools in Texas - TX School Rankings

Gotta love researching schools !

Well, there are the neighborhood programs that are parallel programs to the magnet ones in these schools. It might be one class per grade level or more. Then they may have a class for special needs students, such as children with extreme autism or behavior issues.

If you want a safe and easy decision, go with Sugar land. That's why we went with KATYISD when we moved from Canada. Then we hated driving and all the cool things were in Houston. So we dove in and have not looked back. You will definitely get more house for the money out there.

I am looking at SBISD looks like Meyerland is a good option too... With access to magnet schools that memorial area won't provide. Great thread.

Parts of the Meyerland area are in the 100 year flood plain. That means you have a 1% chance of flooding per year. If the house didn't flood in 2001, you should be good.

Just be aware that the federal government is getting out of the flood insurance business so flood insurance for any property in a flood plain will dramatically increase over the next few years.
