Here it is: Murders in 2013 | Interactive | HoustonChronicle.com - Houston Chronicle

Not sure what is up with the 5th Ward getting a pass on this map when there was at least one killing that does not show up on the map.

If you zoom into the 3700 block of Campbell Street, you will not see anything. Yet there was a murder, see story: http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?section=news/local&id=9062963

I wouldn't call it low, Houston had a murder rate of 9.30 which 30 times greater than an entire nation like Japan (0.3).

or compared to a smaller and poorer city like Lubbock w/3-6 murders or a murder rate of ~1.3-2.5.

sorry forgot to post it, wish Houston Chronicle would post a better map.

NY Daily News actually provides information about NYCs murders.
TALE OF TWO CITIES: Even as murders hit record low in NYC, a mountain of cases languishes in outer boroughs as cops focus more manpower on Manhattan cases - NY Daily News

It's not like it's difficult or time consuming to use maps.google.com tag the murders and provide at least some background in the description. HPD provides information about homicides on their webpage.

Um why are you comparing an American city to another country? Lol seriously? This really makes no sense. Maybe you should compare Houston to other large cities. I am surprised you didn't try to compare it to New Braunfels since you just did Lubbock

Hahahaha. This is funny. Looks like the 5th ward and 2nd ward are the safest places to live in Houston. Sweet!

Yep, so where does the blame lie? With HPD for not providing accurate data or with sloppy Chronicle data collection?

What's the difference between murder vs homicide vs manslaughter? A play on words? You already know Rick Perry claimed we don't have 'lootings' in Texas... just like your local PD claims we don't have 'muggings' in Texas.

Murder - causing death with intent or premeditation
Homicide - Legal term for causing death of another... murder and manslaughter are both unlawful form s of homicide
Manslaughter - causing death without intent or premeditation

Drawing inferences regarding "safety" based on this map of murders alone is misguided.
