Default need specific commute times

Hi All, Thanks to this great community i have successfully "narrowed" down to the following areas in that specific preference order. I need to find the commute time with and w/o park and ride from these areas to downtown.

1) FriendsWood
2) Pearland
3)Clear Lake
4) Jersey Village
5) Humble

Ofcourse any inputs on these places will be awesome too. Thanks again !

4) Jersey Village - w/o a good 45+ min (depending on TOD) I'd say allow an hour, more if it's raining. Depends on day of week, and if school is in or not. DOW example. I left my house in Cypress at 7AM on a monday. Took me 30 minutes with LIGHT (read: traffic flowing thick at 60MPH) 7AM on a tuesday, took me 1 hour with light sprinkle moving with stop and go and the occasional run of 30 MPH on 290... seems once you get on 10 via 610 its easy till 45. Don't ask why... I imagine P&R would be a good 30 min.

Clear Lake is very nice but drive time depends on what time you leave it could take 40 min to over an hour. And if it's rainning you don't want to know

Pearland to Downtown.

Pearland has basically two sides with major routes to Downtown: West Pearland (highway 288) and East Pearland (highway 45). Of the two, East Pearland is less congested.

From West Pearland it can take you anywhere from 40 mins to 1 hour. There is no park-n-ride (that I'm aware of) from this side of Pearland.

From East Pearland it can take you from 20 - 45 minutes driving alone. With park-n-ride it's approx 30 minutes depending on whether there are additional stops. Also, 45 has an HOV lane so carpool is equivalent to the park-n-ride time.

Hey there, we live in Humble and hubby works downtown and it takes him 25-30 minutes in traffic and 15 - 20minutes with no traffic.

I hope this helps.

I would agree that the times you have gotten are pretty accurate. I've lived in Houston for 24 years. I'm currently in Humble and choose that area specifically for the good commute to downtown. I am quite a ways east of 59 at 1960 and West Lake Houston Pkwy and my commute is best case 35 min, normal 40 min worst case 50-55 min. And most of that is getting to 59 at the Beltway. Once I'm there it's 15 min to downtown and almost never really slow and heavy traffic.

So of your five choices, Humble is easily the shortest commute to downtown.

Oh, almost forgot, there are several Park and Rides along 59 and I assume all will get you downtown pretty quickly since the freeway is almost never backed up. One at Beltway - I would guess 20 min, one at Townsend (just north of 1960) probably about 25-30 min, and I think one in Kingwood. (further north so a little longer)
