Yes, I saw the concrete barriers today. Thanks for the heads down to remind your shuttle drivers to brake and swerve!

Was anyone able to go to the Astros' home opener today? We had a walk-off win.

For once Wandy Rodriguez pitches well and keeps the team in the ballgame without run support, like Roy Oswalt has been doing for years (he's off to a rocky start this year though).

They need Roy to do well, but they really need for Wandy and Brandon Backe to have great years. And Shawn Chacon might be the most pivotal of all of the acquisitions so far. It comes down to whether the starting pitching can keep the Astros in games.

For Wandy, keeping his ERA under 5.00 is a good year.

But the way the team is scoring runs, that might be good enough. Backe picked up a win without particularly pitching well. He's going to come around slowly. The big question with him is how well he pitches on the road, which has been what's kept him from being considered one of the better starting pitchers in baseball. Either way I'm rooting for him. That's one big leaguer that hasn't forgotten where he came from...

Default How do you all feel about it?

My wife and I are looking to relocate to Houston or Galveston. We loathe living in Southern California, other than the beaches, and want to live out our life in a "Real American" town. How do you all feel about California transplants?
