Hi. I would like some recommendation on home inspection company. I would like regular home inspection plus mold and termites. Does regular home inspection cover HVAC units, pool equipments and sprinkler? Is there any good inspection company that does all of those above or I have to hire two or more separately?

Can you send me that also? I'm looking for an inspection company that would do the home inspection with both mold and termite in one shot. Thanks

we just did our home inspection and used Home Cert (************************* ******************* Houston Home Inspection | Infrared Thermal Inspection | Home Inspector). Chuck, the inspector, did a great job and we would definitely use him again.

You're wasting money hiring someone to inspect for mold. The mold thing is mostly a scam. Not saying there aren't circumstances where mold isn't a serious issue, but it's way overblown. A regular home inspector who's worth his salt will see water damage and mold pretty easily. Generally how it works is you get a home inspector as soon as possible, like the first day of your ten day period. If he recommends a termite inspector or foundation inspector based on things he saw then you quickly schedule one of those. If you want your sprinkler system checked just turn it on and see if it's working.

edit: inspectors check hvac by turning it on and seeing if it works. Inspectors can also tell you AC is the right size or if your model was ever recalled or if they think it's about to wear out by looking at its age. They don't really look at pools.

My husband owns an inspection company. He will not inspect for WDI, or pools, but he books those inspections for you, so they're there, when he's there.

WDI and pools take an additional license, and the way my husband looks at it, he'd rather concentrate on the structural and mechanical inspection, and leave the others to those professionals who have concentrated their training in their respective fields.

Mold inspections are also performed by specialists.

No they don't check for meth. Inspections have changed. They only tell you if whatever it is they are looking at is doing its job. You need to have a keen eye yourself. Pretty much if it's working, it passes. We used Jim himes at Houston inspections dot com. I've never seen someone so thorough. In fact I think our realtor got mad that he was so thorough because she was afraid if the deal not going through.

Another vote for Chuck at HomeCert. He did my pre-cover inspection in March and just did my final new construction inspection today. Never worked with anyone as thorough and detail oriented as Chuck, plus he's always answered any questions I have with a smile. I can't say enough good things about Chuck at HomeCert.

I used Chuck @ HomeCert in a couple of homes and agree that he does an excellent job. I've tried a couple of different inspectors, but neither of them did the detailed write up or took pictures of every fault like HomeCert did.
