For insurance, I think I am going to go with the dwelling coverage equal to the appraisal as per the lender's appraisal report.

Also, is changing locks after moving into a house a very common thing? I understand the reason. I just hadn't thought of this.

Any recommendations or advice about cleaning the carpet when I move in?

I am thinking of renting a steam cleaner and doing it myself. Is that reasonable considering I haven't done it before. I don't even know how much it costs to rent versus hiring a cleaning company to do it.

If you are going to epoxy coating your garage floor, do it before you move in.
Otherwise, you would never get a chance to do it.

use this for insects:
