I will probably be relocating to Houston next summer. I am looking for a gated home or a home in an upscale gated community. Home must be in an outstanding school district. My budget is $650,000 - $750,000.

Based on my Internet search, here are three areas that look interesting:

1) Klein. Looking for homes zoned to Doerre Intermediate School and Klein HS. Not sure whether there are any gated communities here. Maybe the Champion Woods subdivision?

2) Sweetwater area of Sugar Land. Looking for homes zoned to First Colony MS or Ft. Settlement MS. Again, not sure whether there are any gated communities here? I believe there are gated estates, but are any of these in my budget range?

3) Carlton Woods gated community in The Woodlands. How strong are The Woodlands schools?

Are there other locations I should be considering?

Many thanks.

Gated communities in Klein area are Champion Woods, Vintage Lakes (gated and guarded), and The Falls at Champions, and Champion Lake Estates.
I sent you a pm about this area, this is the area I live and work in.

The Woodlands is beautiful and the schools are very good there.
I don't know anything about your other area.

Have you tried looking to work with a Realtor?,It will make your job alot easier, and you do not need to pay for a Realtor Services when you are looking for a home.
A Realtor can provide you with local informartion, neighborhood, Schools, and help you basically with all your relocation needs.

Supermac, you are in Champion Woods ? It is very nice. I was just looking at the Imperial homes model today, gorgeous! I would like to buy that one myself. Great prices for what you get in there. I will be previewing some of the other homes there next week, haven't had time to really look into that area yet other then mls.

We are actually in the custom section, not the Imperial section. Make sure to take time to wander around some of the houses in the gated custom section. I'm sure you'll recognize some of the local builder names. Its kind of still in the start up phase, so I think the prices right now on the custom specs are pretty great for what you get. The prices haven't caught up to the Falls or even the back sections of Windrose yet for similar homes.
