I play ice/roller, lived in Dallas for 2 years and Houston since last August. Dallas is by far much better for hockey players. It isn't even close.

That being said, Houston has 3 ice rinks, Sugar Land (the best of the three), memorial city, and space city ice.

There was one in sharpstown but it was closed.

For roller hockey, I know about Houston indoor sports in north Houston..

Hockey is huge here...along with skiing, snowboarding, and ice fishing. "/

Roller hockey here had a good following but lost steam around 2000. There were some who play in memorial picnic loop but I've been out of the scene for a while.

Now that the Aeros left casual interest really dropped. I suggest checking with folks at the Maple Leaf pub in midtown, as they know where some players are.

Not long ago Texas had more pro hockey teams than any Canadian province. South of I 10 interest (or financing) have declined. Austin and dfw areas have decent roller and ice programs.

Didn't expect that reaction.. hockey is not big at all where I am now in pa, but there's a roller hockey rink near me where a bunch of guys get together every Sunday. Clearly I'm not talking about outdoor ice hockey..

There is, but it is not big. I have a friend who plays in a league. No clue where it is.
