There is trash everywhere, regardless of what neighborhood you move into even the upscale ones have plenty of closet trash- nice and sweet on the outside appearance but deep down .... well you get the idea. Often kids with the most money get into trouble (like the examples cited on the thread) because they are bored and they have the money & transportation to get into things they shouldn't. You can't assume that just lower-income kids are trouble. I would be more concerned about the schools than the neighbors -- if you have a less than stellar performance at the schools then prospects are rather bleak for your kids to advance beyond those around them.

I imagine Magnolia is going to have it's rednecks...maybe not as many
I know this is a little late of a response however if you look at the AEIS report for White Oak Middle School which is the primary middle school for Porter you will find that the student demographics which is a pretty good representation of the community. It shows nearly 40% hispanic and 50%+ white...so to say Porter is full of rednecks is a little off base. Also I have lived here most of my life and I would say we have the same percentage of "trash" as any other area. For the most part people are members of the working to middle class and willing to work hard for what they have. They just want to live there lives and be happy.

Yeah....I would heavily advise against it. I actually knew someone from there, let's just say that the drive to porter to visit was not pleasant.

I am asian and the looks I would get when driving to around Porter were astonishing, not to mention having to make stops in Porter were a little nerve wrecking.

Don't forget that just up the way is Splendora...even more redneck's! :P

As stated before Magnolia/Tomball is a pretty decent place to look...Oh and Conroe is pretty nice....still developing and very woodsy. And it is just as nice as the Woodlands without the heavy price tag.
