Parker says downtown homeless population cut in half - Houston Chronicle

No mayor parker, the bums have not been "housed". You've pushed them out of downtown into other parts of the city. Too many bums on the corner of Fountain view and Westheimer.

San Antonio did this to clean up the river walk. They used to drive them out to the burbs and drop them off. Tell them not to go back to downtown. There have always been bums on the corner of Fountain View and Westheimer.

It was such a tragedy that they were cut in half.

Just this morning I saw a guy with pants down squatting in a bus shelter in Midtown...at 8 am. Sorry, I would pack these people in trucks and drive them out near Lake Livingston or west Texas and drop them off. Providing each an bologna sandwich and cookie, just like the inmates get at Harris county.

No there hasn't, that's a recent thing, like the last year or two.

I like to give money to the bums when I'm across town. It's an economic incentive for them to stay over there.

I grew up in the Galleria area. There have been bums all over the Galleria area for decades.

Anybody who lives in the area knows that there has been a noticeable increase in the amount of bums in the area over the last two years.
