Anyone know what is being built south of Shafer elementary school on 1463? Drove by there today and saw the entire area was being graded / moving dirt. Please tell me it's not more strip malls!

Store front businesses from my understanding. Not sure what all will go in there though.

The only good thing about that is that it is controlled land by CCR. Therefore I would imagine its more "aesthetically" pleasing than the store front just across the street...10 bucks that a nail salon will be one of the first to open up...

Oh, and Second Baptist has broken ground! It looks like it is going to be a HUGE campus.

If it's a strip mall you will get the following at a minimum:

Nail Salon
Dry Cleaner
Optometrist

Apparently, we need so many of these in Katy.

Directly S. of Shafer on the East side of 1463 is Second Baptist, all the way to Fry. And yes, it is huge.

On the west side of 1463 is a CVS, day care next to Randolph elementary, and additional unknown retail

Did some searches online and came up with the following for Second Baptist Church, Cinco Ranch campus:

Second Baptist Church, Cypress & Cinco Ranch Campuses

Per the website: "Both campuses will feature a 168,000-sf building that includes worship in the round seating up to 4,500 people, a 25,000-sf nursery, GIGL Theater for prekindergarten children, Jump Theater for children from 1st through 5th grade, specialized space for junior high and high school students, a playground area, significant media space, and a café. The Texas-style design will utilize limestone and exposed wood to create a welcoming, comfortable environment for church goers. The 77-acre Cypress campus and 47-acre Cinco Ranch campus will allow room for future growth."

It looks like they are helping Second Baptist with both the Cinco Ranch and Cypress campuses. Looks very impressive.

Any idea what would be built on the tract of land on the opposite side of 1463 just next to Churchill Farms? I understand that that also belongs to a church

It has the Crosspoint Church sign so hopefully it's them or another church if they decide to sell.

Hopefully some kind of deed restrictions exist. Better if Crosspoint or another subdivision builds there. The worst case scenario has to be another grocery food chain (Walmart is unlikely as they are building down the road) or apartment complex
