festival of lights - moody gardens
Hey Everybody,
I went to the festival of lights last weekend, as I was told it was a great experience.
This was probably the biggest disappointment I have had in a long time... I found it to be very very bad.
And I am all about christmas lights, I drive around neighbooroods to watch the beautiful lights people put together in their yards...
And I can't believe I paid $6 (plus gas to go there).
anybody sharing this view or does anybody else really like that thing??!?

Sorry to learn that but Thanks for sharing it.
I was planning to go there this weekend but now I have to think twice. I had never been to Moody's lights but my personal experience is that 'PrestonWood' near 1960/249 is the 'you-can-not-afford-to-miss' FREE xmas light display in houston.

Moody Garden
I just went to Moody Gardens this weekend. It lives up to its name. We left in a bad mood. The attractions were dull, admission was costly, etc
Overall very lame.

I went to the festival of lights last year at Moody... I agree, it was lame. I moved here from Michigan last year, so the idea of walking around and sweating while looking at Christmas Lights was not very appealing. I use to visit family in Charleston, SC every Christmas and they had a great drive thru light display there that puts Moody to shame. They also had an outdoor ice rink that was actually frozen rather than the pond they had a Moody. Everything was overpriced.
However, the kids enjoyed it, so that made it worth it.

Oh you guys! Perfect timing bringing up this thread. Is it sad I was just telling hubby last night that I can't wait for Christmas?!?! I am just so excited. I love going to Prestonwood Forest and looking at the lights!
Okay, sorry...I just can't help it!

I think Moody Gardens' lights are also lame...
Mom2Feebs, if you think Prestonwood Forest is great, check this out. The drive is a little further but once you get there, all is forgotten. This guy's light show has music coordinated to the lights, AWESOME! We went there, then Prestonwood Forest, and my children were so unimpressed with Prestonwood.
