I'm sure some of you have heard that the Latin hub of Houston is in the Katy area (specifically north of I10) "Katyzuela" & "Hialeah" are just some of the names I have heard for all the Venezuelans & Cubans in the Katy area...

I know there are LOTS of Mexican-Americans in Sugar Land, the East side, & basically all over. But other Latinos such as Cubans, Colombians, Puerto Ricans, Venezuelans, Dominicans, I think are more based in Katy.
I know there are Colombians off of Hwy 6 too (Mission Bend area, 77083 area) but there are also lots of Colombians in Katy too...

I also heard there are lots of Puerto Ricans in Jersey Village area....

any truth to this statement?

Nope. No truth to any of that.

Just a bunch of Americans there.

Default Latinos Unidos

just go to La centerra in Cinco Ranch I think the predominant language there is Spanish. then take a drive up south Mason Road and then over to West Green and North Fry Road. there you will see many taquerias, cantinas And pupuserias where they're used to once be chained restaurants pizzerias grocery stores etc.

Hmm...Houston...Latinos / Spanish speakers..... tell me of an area that doesn't have this segment of population (might be easier to create that list).

There are surprisingly few Hispanics in Sugar Land compared to the rest of the region. SL is white, South Asian and East Asian. Very few Hispanics and blacks relatively speaking.

Although this thread is interesting, I don't think race is a good way to classify a city's cultural groups anymore unless you're an immigrant who hasn't completely assimilated. I think the new racial lines are tied to classism, and it has to do with what's sitting in your bank account. A 'nice' white family in a mansion in Sugarland or RiverOaks would likely find no issue with a well-to-do black or hispanic family moving into a mansion across the street. They absolutely would have issue with a white family building a tiny house or trailer setup across their street. People with money tend to feel more comfortable around other people with money.
