I would recommend pausing any office development not already in construction. I wouldn't start any new apartment projects either. Industrial can probably keep going for awhile. Retail hasn't had enough construction to warrant slowing down - they can't get good sites.

This is very interesting. Almost a 360 degree difference from 3 months ago when they won't stay around for more than 2 days.

Houston has both upstream and down stream oil economy that is huge advantage to pure upstream with little infrastructure to bring to refiners at competitive cost. Its also going to effect everything that supplies industry from steel to heavy equipment. Down stream is likely to keep margins and perhaps increase from increase in usage likely to come.

Between 40-50% were laid off where I was (am) at.

So, if that many people were laid off and Houston still fared better than most cities in America economically (and grew by leaps and bounds) during that time, why are people stressing? (I do understand the scare over being laid off, but besides that obvious reason)
