I'm from Houston and in curious. Seems like low COL and jobs is what makes this place attractive. But what if those weren't worries?

I wouldn't stay in Houston. I'd probably live in New York City.

No.

Don't get me wrong, I am very thankful to Houston and Texas for the ease of doing business and the low cost of everything but if I cash out of my business and have many millions, I would be gone so fast, all you'd see is that bugs bunny cloud behind me.

I would live in fabulous places like Manhattan, NYC where I'd have a massive penthouse in one of those gargantuan glass towers overlooking the city and Santa Barbara, California or Hanalei, Hawaii where i'll own a ranch. I'll also keep and apartment in Paris and spend summers exploring Europe, going on African safaris and sailing the Mediterranean.

First off money always matters. So imagine you now have 3 million to spend on a house instead of 300k, you would still want to get the best bang for your buck. Not only would places you have dreamed about be within reach but also places in Greater Houston that you have never really experianced before would be available as well. Remember there are a lot of very wealthy people who call Houston home. My lifestyle would change, I would travel more perhaps and eat better food, but I most likely would do those things from a base here in Houston. So the answer is yes I would still live in Houston.

I would definitely live here. As a native, I wouldn't be happy in many other places. If I were a wealthy, I'd possibly own vacation homes in other places, but Houston would still be my home base.
