I have Cherry Kitchen cabinets but considering painting the cabinets white. Please provide feedback on your color preferance for kitchen cabinets. Note the attached pictures are not the actual cabinets but I wanted to give you a reference point. The ktichen is pretty small.

I am a white kitchen fan. I painted my wooden cabinets and it is lighter and brighter and has really opened the kitchen up. It looks much bigger. One of the better decisions I have made! The color used was Navajo White by Benjamin Moore but I used Sherwin Williams paint. Sherwin Williams also have a Navajo White but I preferred the B. Moore color. It is a warm white.

White. I just finished a remodel six months ago.

I did Ben Moore Super White on the cabinets and trim, China white on the walls. White stone on the counters, bluestone on the floor. The whole house felt brighter and bigger. Always hated how dark or "country" stained cabinets made things look.

Cabot, thanks for the feedback. Would you mind posting a picture of your cabinets? I am wondering how white cabinets would look painted over a dark stain finish. I have seen this done by the Property Brothers but that's TV!

I don't like white cabinets at all except maybe in bathrooms. Nevertheless, white cabinets never really look out of style whereas certain stained cabinets look dated depending on what's in. If you like white cabinets, go with that.

i bought a condo and repainted my cabinets white and have a look similar to the pic you posted but on a smaller/cheaper scale of whats in that photo.

i think it depends but as one said, they dont tend to ever go out of style. my kitchen is tiny so white was the way to go as it makes it feel bigger. the cherry looks good too (prob will be outdated at one point) but the countertops imo need to be white/or a lighter shade than also a dark color.

i like the entire look of that kitchen w/ the white cabinets. just feels fresh yo

I prefer cherry, warmer. kind of depends on the rest of your house and décor...more contemporary or more traditional? You can use lighter walls or backsplash if you want it to look more spacious

I think it's a shame to cover up a beautiful, expensive hardwood like cherry with white paint. It's like ripping out solid wood architectural details on old homes in order to hang vinyl siding.
