I was wondering if Gas was cheaper in Houston because of the refinery and gas being produced there. Since there would be less overhead in transporting it.. I was wondering if that would make it cheaper?

Gas is at 2.98 in El Paso.. what is your gas price at in Texas?

Yesterday I saw it as high as $2.97, but I paid $2.89.

Closeness to the refineries doesn't always mean cheaper gas.

Galveston often has some of the most expensive gas in the state, even though it's just across the causeway from a bunch of refineries in Texas City, which also often has prices a few cents over what I might find it elsewhere in the area.

I've always found Houston to have lower gas prices than Dallas, but it really depends on what station you get your gas at. That's always been my experience. And Austin has always been more expensive than Dallas. It's really weird how this all works out. And rural West Texas has been more expensive than anyone else.

I wonder if Congress could ever legislate limits on gas prices??
