Hello! First time poster here. I am moving to Houston due to a job transfer and I only have 30 days to find somewhere to stay. My job will be in two locations, The Galleria Area(3 times a week) and Nassau Bay(2 times a week). Does anyone have suggestions on where to live that would be a good area for a single mom and child. My child is 3 and my max rent for a 2 bedroom is $1,000. I really don't want to go much higher, but will if I have to for security. Thanks!

Your dual work locations make this an extremely complicated situation. I'm guessing that Pearland around the 288 Freeway @ Beltway 8, would be your most central location. I'm pretty sure you can find an apartment in that area for your budget. Good luck !

Maybe the north side of Pearland, near Beltway 8? You could use the Beltway to commute in both directions, and it should be fairly affordable. I don't know that area well though.

You might also try apartments in Meyerland; there are some near the Meyerland Walmart that look nice, right off 610, maybe on Meyer Forest Drive. That would be closer to the Galleria and everything of interest in Houston. A longer drive to the bay but pretty easy via 610/45, and it would be a reverse commute.

Try the apartments on Pearland Parkway and Beltway 8. Stay away from the 288 side of Pearland.

Thanks for the suggestions. I figured Pearland would be best after looking at the map. Would Stafford be a good area?

Yeah I agree with everybody else, pearland is probably the way to go.
